In Japanese, "Shi" means finger and "atsu" means pressure. The aim of Shiatsu is to promote the self-healing ability and to support pain complaints. Shiatsu is characterized by pressure applied to various anatomical points of the body by thumbs, fingers and palms. In Western terms, these points correspond to muscles, bones, blood vessels, nerves, lymphatic vessels and glands. From an Eastern perspective, it is based on energy channels (meridians), and the so-called Qi circulation and is based on the ancient Chinese Medicine.
Shiatsu Namikoshi works:
Illness and injury are often preceded by impaired physical and mental function due to the accumulation of fatigue manifested by everyday symptoms, such as headaches, lethargy, drowsiness, or stiffness in the muscles of the neck and back. The body gradually loses its ability to maintain balance, making it more susceptible to further complications. The shiatsu therapist treats the whole person (holistic) and guides the person to a better physical and mental well-being.
Shiatsu Namikoshi is a pleasant form of therapy due to the complete "bodywork".
