Treatment

Shiatsu is characterized by a soothing and gentle deep pressure that is applied to various anatomic points on the body by the thumbs, fingers, palms and to about 700 effective points of the body that correspond to the muscles, bones, blood vessels, nerves, lymph vessels and glands of the endocrine system. Other than that it will improve the circulation of the blood- and body substances. Besides it will detox your body by removing toxins. The type, degree and duration of pressure are adjusted to meet the special needs of each area of the body and each individual. After this calming treatment, both your body and mind will be completely relaxed.

This Japanese pressure point massage was developed by Tokujiro Namikoshi into a full treatment and his therapy was recognized in 1957 by the Japanese Ministry of Health

Shiatsu works: myological (i.e. relaxes the muscles and improves the joint mobility), energetic (better circulation of energy), circulation (good circulation of blood and body substances as well as disposal of waste), hormonal (influence of hormones), neurological (nervous system), psychological.

Shiatsu treatments may be covered by insurance but you need to check your insurance policy.

Application - In a nice and quiet area, Shiatsu will be given on a massage table. Underwear is kept on. You will be covered by blankets.
